Mentoring for vulnerable children and young adults

Friendship Works mentors are ordinary people doing extraordinary things to improve the life chances of vulnerable children and young adults. This project trained and paired adult mentors with young carers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, and care leavers. Over at least 12 months, mentors and young people spent time together having fun and helping each other.

We evaluated the effect of the project on both mentors and ‘mentees’, developed case studies of effective practice and suggested developments for further developments of Family Action’s work.
